One of the many cool things about Joomla is the sheer number of high-quality extensions available for it, mostly for free. There’s a fair share of SEO extensions out there as well, and here you’ll discover 5 which will help your website rank better in the results page.
Not only one extension, but 7-in-one, RS SEO Suite is in my opinion one of the most helpful SEO extensions currently available for Joomla. With it you can optimize your web pages, monitor you competitors, set up proper redirects, and many more. Despite its many features, RS SEO Suite is surprisingly stable and relatively easy to use.
A simple yet effective extension, ARTIO JoomSEF helps you optimize your URLs. The cool thing about it is that it makes your URLs better not only for search engines like Google and Bing, but also for people, by simplifying URLs and so making them comprehensible. ARTIO JoomSEF works with both English URLs as well as with those in other languages, provided that you download an additional internationalization module.
It lets you do a simple yet important thing: add a unique title to each of your pages. Using unique titles is wise because search engines dislike websites whose titles and Meta tags are identical for all their pages. Easy to add and to use, SEO Pagination lets you create a unique title for your homepage, category pages, and archive pages.
It’s easy to forget to add a meta description to the articles you publish on your website – I often do. Missing Metadate Module has helped me with this bad habit. After you add it to Joomla, check the Administrator panel and there you’ll find a list of all the articles on your website that don’t have a proper meta description. Chances are you’ll be a bit surprised (and alarmed) at how many articles lack meta data.
A straightforward extension, Website Name does nothing more than to add the name of your website to the left or to the right of the title on each web page. Simple and useful, it ensures that your visitors know what site they’re browsing.
Am a bit confused about the purpose- What is the difference between # 3-SEO Pagination and # 5 WEBSITE NAME. appreciate a reply.
“Website Name” only adds your website name to the <title> tag of your pages, for instance:
<title>My Awesome Post | MyWebsite.com</title>
or
<title>MyWebsite.com | My Awesome Post</title>
“SEO pagination” on the other hand allows you to create unique, dynamic page names for the homepage, archive pages and category pages so you don’t have duplicate titles.
